Texture in Nature

Susan Zulauf's 'mark of the artist' is exemplified in her textural paintings of landscape and nature. With an almost Fauvist use of color combined with gestural and experimental uses of paint, form, decorative motifs, and materials, the glamorized beauty of nature is present.

My Own Witness: Rupture and Repair

Returning artist, Donna Bassin, collaborated with individuals who felt invisible and un-entitled in the American moment following the 2016 presidential election. By telling stories through pose, gesture, and props, the subject asserts their identity and invites encounters with their humanity.

Stereotypes in U.S. Popular Culture features photographs of objects and materials from the Jack G. Shaheen Archive at Tamiment Library & Robert F. Wagner Labor Archives, and documents U.S. popular culture representations of Arabs and Muslims from the early-20th century to the present.

Mario Loprete is a painter and sculptor residing and working in Catanzaro, Italy. A graduate of the Accademia of Belle Arti, Loprete has found his artistic voice through the mediums of painting and sculpture. Through research and experimentation, his choice of medium to work with has become: Concrete.

Sonic Peaks

Over the next few years, Payton MacDonald plans to summit the 146 highest mountains in the Northeastern part of the United States. His objective is to create graphic scores that reflect the feelings and experiences he has on a given peak or collection of peaks.

This idea makes up his latest exhibit, "Sonic Peaks."

A Convocation of Color

Ed Whitmore creates patina works that evoke the passage of time and suggest ideas of loss and decay. He utilizes metal effects paints that oxidize, creating subtle shades of brown, green and blue.

Passaic County Senior Art Show

Coordinated by the Passaic County Department of Senior Services, the Senior Art Show is featured at the Arts Center until July 3rd. 

With 38 works of art by 38 different residents of Passaic County, this show features a wide and varied mix of styles and mediums.  

 

The Reception & Awards Ceremony will be held on Thursday, June 23rd from 2:00PM-4:00PM at the Arts Center on the 1st Floor. Light refreshments will be served.

This exhibit features Little Falls resident Jerry Winick, revealing his desire to take the art of pencil drawing to new heights. Winick has been drawing for most of his life and is a teacher of pencil drawing at Pencilworks Studio.
